The University
Founded by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in 1933, Newman University is named after Church leader and educator, John Henry Cardinal Newman. The University prides itself in providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed personally and professionally. At the same time, Newman nurtures ethical and moral standards rooted in Judeo-Christian principles by which students can set goals, make decisions, and establish relationships. Located in the fertile Arkansas River valley, just south of the famed Flint Hills of Kansas, Wichita is rich in history. It's one of the most entrepreneurial cities in North America. Amidst a landscape of trees and lakes, this, the largest city in Kansas, offers a multitude of career opportunities. Long known as the "Air Capital of the World," Wichita is home to three universities, regional symphony and theater companies, state of the art science museums, and a wide range of professional and amateur sports. Newman is in the heart of a dynamic city and state.
